Huseyin Yurtseven is a dentist from Istanbul, Turkey, with a big heart that has been photographed on the streets while helping the homeless animals. This hobby was born after seeing in social networks an inspiring video that moved him.
Yurtseven travels nearby neighborhoods sheltering puppies and kittens that "die" of cold, he has even distributed blankets to merchants and animal lovers in the city in order to have a whole network of help, according to the Daily Mail.
Yurtseven said:
"I saw stray dogs living in my neighborhood. I put wool blankets from my house on the street animals that slept in front of the building. I shared this situation with my friends. We started working. "
Dentist spends his free time sheltering homeless animals
This dentist and his friends have left their contact details to the residents of Istanbul so that they can return the blankets if they do not have the possibility to wash them and thus avoid dirtying the city.
Yurtseven said:
"I was very impressed by the trembling of a dog that I covered in Sultanahmet Square. His trembling was not cold but love. When we approached him with a blanket, we shuddered, before putting his head between his legs, turned his face towards us. This behavior would change the way that individuals think about life. The animals of the street will show us that compassion, happiness and sincerity ".
Yurtseven also helped dehydrated homeless animals in the summer by placing containers of water in front of houses and shops.
"This movement of kindness is a behavior that everyone can do."
Earlier this month, flights in Istanbul were interrupted due to snowfall and high winds. Turkey is hit by snow, the lowest temperature ever recorded in the country in January was -25ºC (-13ºF) at the beginning of 1942.
Winter has spread across Europe, even in the United Kingdom where the National Met Service, Met Office, has been warning of heavy snowfalls with yellow weather warnings, as snow and ice create potentially dangerous conditions for pedestrians and drivers.
The Met Office said:
"It is also likely that there will be more rain of hail, sleet and snow. It is likely to accumulate several centimeters above 200 meters, mainly in western Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and northwest England. A small amount of snow (1 cm or less) is also possible at lower levels in some places. "
Met Office meteorologist Sophie Yeomans added:
"Most of the country is in the coldest and rainiest air. The snow is mostly in the hills, while in most places the rains fall like rain and maybe a little sleet. "
"We have some ice warnings; the climate front that it has crossed has left the rain on the ground, so the air temperatures begin to fall, the soil temperatures will be below zero and that is a risk of ice in most of the United Kingdom. "
"... On untreated surfaces there is a risk of slips and falls."
"There is also the risk of some icy surfaces on untreated roads."
